Phil Plait, the creator of Bad Astronomy, has lined up what he’s marked as the 14 best astronomy pictures of 2010, including the above awe-inspiring photo up top of an aurora australis as seen from space. Before becoming a writer and Discover Magazine blogger, Plait worked for ten years on the Hubble Space Telescope, so knows the best visuals in the cosmos when he sees ’em.
